River Ganges flows very swiftly at Haridwar, so inorder to ensure the safety of all those who wish to bathe in the river, Jagat Janani Shri Mataji in her life time got constructed 220 ft long protective and also beautiful Ghats for men and women separately under her own supervision. The Ghats were inaugurated on 13th April, 1979 by Shri Mataji and Shri Satpal Ji Maharaj and opened for access of all the devotees and tourists who visited the ashram. The bathing area consists of a flight of concrete steps leading right into the water, and is bounded by a protective railing. The view of river and hills is delightful from the Ghats especially at sunrise.
